Job Opportunities

Australia Street OSHC is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and engaging out-of-school-hours care environment where children feel secure, supported and valued. Our service supports children to play, create, explore and connect through meaningful experiences that reflect their interests, strengths and voices.

Child safety and wellbeing are at the centre of everything we do. We are dedicated to creating a culture where children are protected from harm, their rights are respected, and they feel confident to speak up and be heard.

About the Role

We are seeking passionate, energetic and child-focused educators who genuinely enjoy working with children and are committed to upholding high standards of child safety and care.

Educators at Australia Street OSHC work as part of a supportive team in a well-resourced service, with plenty of day-to-day variety. You will have opportunities to build your skills across a wide range of experiences, including art and craft, STEM, cooking, active play and group games.

Educators must be able to:

  • Facilitate engaging activities that meet the developmental needs and interests of children aged 5–12

  • Actively supervise and engage both small and large groups of children

  • Promote positive behaviour using a consistent, strengths-based approach

  • Maintain a strong focus on child safety, wellbeing and duty of care at all times

  • Work within the National Quality Framework (NQF) and My Time, Our Place

  • Follow all child safe policies, procedures and reporting obligations

Candidates must possess:

  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency or a valid student visa (Working Holiday visas not accepted)

  • A good level of spoken and written English

  • A current Working With Children Check (WWCC)

  • A demonstrated commitment to child safety and child safe practices

First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma training are highly desirable but not essential.

Australia Street OSHC is a Child Safe Organisation. We actively encourage applications from people who share our commitment to protecting children from harm and supporting their safety, wellbeing and inclusion.

If you believe you would be a great fit for our service, we would love to hear from you. Please email your CV to Vikki Butler (assco-oosh@bigpond.com) (including your WWCC number) outlining your experience and interest in the role.
