Term 1 Week 2

A Wonderful Holiday Program and a Smooth Start to Term 1!

Our Vacation Care program was an absolute hit! Children were engaged, confident and excited to attend each day. We first wanted to thank our fantastic staff who helped see the program through and brought incredible energy every day.

A few standout moments from the program included:

  • New Year’s Eve / Silent Disco, where children explored how different cultures celebrate the New Year through hands-on art experiences such as origami, lantern making and wish bracelets. This day sparked great conversations, creativity and curiosity.

  • K-Pop World Tour, a high-energy favourite that encouraged confidence and self-expression through dancing, karaoke, craft and performance, with children cheering each other on and having a lot of fun together.

  • Guide Dogs Day, which offered a meaningful opportunity for children to build empathy and understanding. Through the incursion, obstacle courses and braille crafts, children learned about accessibility, teamwork and perseverance.

  • Ice Age Day, where children slowed things down and immersed themselves in creative and sensory experiences such as fossil making, cave drawings and ice painting, encouraging imagination and calm focus.

Our textas have definitely been put to good use!

As we’ve returned to term time, it has been wonderful to see how well children are settling back into routine. Familiar faces are reconnecting, new children are feeling more confident each day, and friendships are continuing to grow. Our educators have focused on creating a calm, welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported and ready to enjoy their time at OSHC. We encourage you to remind your child that all of our staff are safe, trusted people they can speak to if they have any worries or need support as they settle into our service.

Thank you to our families for your ongoing support, we’re off to a fantastic start and are looking forward to a great year ahead at Australia Street OSHC

Warm regards,
The Australia Street OSHC Team
