Term 1 Week 5
Dear Families,
It has been such a lovely few weeks in Aftercare. There’s been a real sense of pride, creativity and connection across the service, and we’re excited to share a little of what we’ve been up to.
We recently introduced our Year 2 Jobs, and it has been so special watching our Year 2 children step into these leadership roles. They are ready for that extra responsibility and they know it. From helping prepare art activities, to supporting pack-up routines, assisting younger children, and taking care of our shared spaces, they have been embracing the opportunity to contribute in meaningful ways.
What has stood out most is the pride on their faces. They feel trusted. They feel capable. And they feel valued within our community.
We also celebrated Pancake Day in Before Care, and it was such a joyful way to start the morning. We had a special breakfast of crepes and pancakes prepared by Ms Vikki which were delicious. It was certainly an exciting start to a Tuesday morning.

In our creative space, we’ve been exploring what it means to be inspired by art rather than simply copying it.
Children have been looking at exemplar pieces and asking:
What do I notice?
What techniques can I try?
How can I make this my own?
It has led to some wonderful discussions about creativity, originality and confidence. The children are learning that inspiration is a starting point not a limit. We’ve attached some pictures of just a few of the amazing pieces that have been made recently for you to have a look.
The vacation care program will be sent out this week and once this is done we will start accepting bookings. Please take care when reading the program and emailing us your preferred dates (assco-oosh@bigpond.com). As always it is first in best dressed and we do not allow for changes or cancellations once bookings have been confirmed.
